This site is the lesson plan section of HotChalk. HotChalk is a corporate sponsored site that contains teacher created lesson plans and premium digital video. While much of the site is free with some corporate advertising, there are some premium services available for a subscription fee. The math lesson plans cover the full K-12 grade range and are categorized by grade and topic. In addition to lesson plans that focus solely on math, there are several that make interdisciplinary connections. The lesson plans are complete and are available in a printer friendly version.

This site is hosted by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM). It contains over 500 lesson plans for grades K-12. Lessons are broken down into 5 general categories which can be searched separately by grade level. The lesson plans are professionally laid out and aligned to NCTM standards. Many of the lessons have online activities which accompany them.

This site is hosted by the Columbia Education Center in Portland, OR. The lesson plans were created by teachers for use in their own classrooms. The lesson plans are simple text documents that are easy to print.

This site it hosted by the Organization For Community Networks and contains several teacher created lesson plans. Some of the lesson plans will require more work on the teacher's part to make them complete, but give some good ideas activities.

This site contains lots of lesson plans grouped by mathematical topic. The lesson plans cover the full K-12 grade range. The lesson plans are well organized and easy to follow and print. Most of the lessons are teacher created and then formatted to create a common look and feel.

SMILE Program Mathematics Index
The SMILE (Science and Mathematics Initiative for Learning Enhancement) program was designed to enhance the elementary and high school learning of Science and Mathematics through the use of the phenomenological approach. Between 1986 and 1997 each summer session participant was asked to create and publish a single concept lesson plan. These lesson plans include the materials needed, a suggested strategy and expected outcomes. The lessons are grouped by general mathematical subject category. In general they do not specify a specific grade, but should be very adaptable at the middle and high school level.

This site contains lesson plans designed for the Florida Center for Instructional Technology. These activities are models for lesson plans that exemplify best practice teaching in 8th grade mathematics. Teacher and student versions of each lesson are provided. Project SkyMath: Making Mathematical Connections
This Web Page is designed for middle school mathematics teachers. It contains all of the information needed for teachers to use the 16 classroom activities of SkyMath, including the module itself. Project SkyMath is a product of the University Corporation for Atmospheric Research. The SkyMath calls for the development of several mathematical concepts using a single central concept from weather --- temperature. The module gives a complete breakdown of how each activity aligns with the NCTM Standards.

Hosted by James Madison University in conjunction with the Virginia Board of Education, this site contains many lesson plans for K-12. Though not noted in the index, the lesson plans are ordered by grade level. The lessons plans are teacher created and easy to read and print. The index annotates the Virginia State Standard associated with each lesson.

They are a set of carefully selected problems which can help improve problem solving skills. Hints for solving the problems are available.
